Featured Families
At the breakfast, you’ll get to know local families living with Alzheimer’s disease and hear their personal stories. Max Larkin’s father, Hugh, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 56. From a desire to meet other children of parents with early onset, Max and his girlfriend Emily Boardway founded the non-profit organization Spoke Your Mind in early 2009. In April of 2009, Max and Emily embarked on a 3,000-mile United States bicycle tour to document the stories of other children of parents with early onset dementia. Max and Emily’s inspiring story has been featured on Seattle’s KING 5 News and Good Morning America. Learn more about their incredible journey at http://www.mindseries.org/spoke-your-mind/about/. Max and Emily will be at the breakfast, and several other families living with Alzheimer’s disease will be in attendance as well.
